The teaching channel video review

I watched a video on Teaching Channel called Assess and Plan with Exit Tickets he video was very interesting because it was saying that almost every activity that is given can have just a basic exit ticket at the end in order to show how many of them understood the concept and how many need more instruction and explanation to better understand. Giving an exit ticket is a faster and easier way of quizzing the students to check their knowledge.
Questions to consider:

1. The exit tickets tell him how much information the students learned and what they need more practice.

2. He keeps them easy and simple and talks about the kinds of responses he saw on the exit tickets

3. I might assess the types of seasons they learn about in science, different math equations etc.

What would you do scenarios

In scenario 1, I would tell my BCTAL teacher that the other intern had gotten a ride from another person and then they rode the bus back to their home campus and the other person told me not to tell anyone.

In scenario 2, I would tell them no I will not sign them in and out because they never rode the bus or showed up to site school so all of the fault will fall on their shoulders and not mine.

In scenario 3, if I saw that happen, I would let the BCTAL teacher know about it the following time I saw her and tell the person they were wrong

On scenario 4, there is harm done when you walk into your site school out of dress code. You are setting an example to the students on how teachers dress. If you were to walk in your classroom inappropriately dressed, Mrs. Petty could be there checking on you, watching you walk into school and making sure you are dressed in your appropriate attire so you could get in trouble anyway

My second first day as an intern

My first week as an intern was awesome. When I first met Mrs. Kimbrell who is my 1st grade mentor, she was very sweet and was excited about me being in her classroom for the rest of the school year. Walking into a classroom again for the second year felt really good because I had absolutely loved working with my students last year and I'm lucky to be at Holiday Heights again. The difference from last year to this year is with second graders, they were able to understand more complex concepts and they began to read chapter books and higher level books with the understanding of what they read. The teacher refused to let them check out little kid books because they would not learn anything from them. This year in my first grade classroom, the reading that they are doing are thing books and they have more pictures in them. They do not have as much knowledge on how to read bigger books because they are still learning words and how to pronounce them and understand what they mean. First graders are still learning the difference between capital and lowercase letters and how to write them and how to put the sounds together to create a word. Working with a lower grade is much more fun because they have more learning to do compared to a higher grade level where they are just learning what the TEKS say they have to learn. When I walk into Holiday Heights, I walk out to the playground to sit with Mrs. Kimbrell while the kids are playing and after 5 minutes, we walk back into the classroom to do reading and writing and when it's time for me to leave, they are headed o specials.
